When applying for a rental, is the landlord thee persons who make the final decision on who rents the property. And can a real estate have a application in before the landlord has even brought the property, but throw other applicants out without calling references, even when the landlord has been in contact with you everyday and spoke to the real estate about myself.?

I rent in Victoria, prior to moving in I had to pay a bond plus 6 weeks in advance. I want to give my 28 days notice to move out, do I need to continue to pay rent or should the 6 weeks that was paid in advance cover my rent for the next 28 days? Also should I be refunded the other 2 weeks that was paid?

Hi we finished our farm business end dec16. We subdivided 1 1/2 acres off and are selling it foe around $500000. We have our own super fund. Husband retired I work a bit. We will pay capital gains and split into our super fund. Do we need to pay gst too...our account is on holidays and can't be contacted?. Thankyou.

Hi im a first home renter and have just moved into a 1 bedroom apartment, i know it depends on personal use but i was just wondering for 2 people how much electricity, water + gas would be. I was hoping around putting away $500 a month for bills? I have no idea! Thanks.

Need help understanding ITAA97 S118.10, which implies if a property is leased/rented at sale date then there will be no relief under the main residence exemption should you latter move in then rent out the property again at a later date?

My partner and I are renters in Sydney and applying for new units in Pyrmont. We are excellent tenants and have been in the same unit happily for almost 4 years, but have had at least 3 unsuccessful applications recently. Are homeowners/property managers looking for a certain percentage higher on the asking prices in competitive areas? How can we increase the competitiveness of our application?

I'm thinking of using Purplebricks to sell my house when they start in Sydney next month. They appear to do everything a traditional agent does and I've estimated it would save us about $65,000 in fees. Are there any catches, seems too good to be true?
