My partner and I are currently in a long distance relationship of 3.5 years. He resides in Samoa where he has completed his diploma in electronics and a certificate in Cisco IT Program provided by the National University of Samoa. I am currently working part time and full time study Bach of Arts/Law at uni. I'm desperate to find a way to bring my partner to Australia on a permanent basis where we can live together and for him to be able to work.He has visited Aus twice. Cananyone help us please?

Hi, we're Melbourne residents looking to buy our first home. We saw an apartment and we have 20% deposit. However, we found out that the property is leased til June 2018. Some lenders said they only approve if the property has under 6 months of lease left. One lender agrees to approve our loan but in investor's rates until we take over the property in June 2018, then they will convert to owner occupier rates. Is this legal? Also, do we still get stamp savings as first home buyers if we proceed?

I am 55 and my preservation age is 57.
I wish to access a property held by my husbands and my SMSF when I retire at 57.
With the Superannuation changes from 1 Jul 17, how do I go about accessing the property or withdrawing it from the SMSF so my husband and I can live in the property.
My husband is also 55 but he won't be retiring until age 60.
Also, what will the taxation implications be?

I need to ask about ways of reducing my taxable income and various deductions. I work for an outsource company who's head office is in Botany NSW but I am always onsite at clients presmises. Some days I am having to start work at Botany and then travel to the client (public transport both journeys). Am I able to claim a deduction for some of the public transport for this?

I currently have my superannuation with REST. I am not working at the moment and am on Centrelink benefits. I was looking at early release of super due to severe financial hardship as I qualify, however REST do not grant access due to this & I do not qualify for compassionate hardship.

I am wondering is it possible to open a new super fund (one that does allow early release of super due to financial hardship), transfer some of my super from REST into that & then apply for early release?
