I have a property valued at $450k, with a $158k interest only mortgage at 3.4% and $158k in an offset a/c. Also $100k sitting in a low interest a/c , i get approx $75 p/mth interest.... i have $30k in super, im currently not working....
Im a widow, and 48yrs.... not recieving any benefits, and no debts, aside from the mortgage.... im hoping to go back to work next year.
My question is with what i have whats the best way to secure my retirement?
Use all my $$ and get a investment property? Put a lump sum onto my super? Wait till i start working again?

Hello

My husband and I have just been advised by centrelink that we are not entitled to receive the aged pension because we have too much assets in the form of money, over the $290,000 allowed savings sum. My question is when we live off our savings and deplete it to the allowed savings mount or less, will we then be entitled to receive the full aged pension?

Thank you
Vanessa

A friend wants to do transition to retirement and cut back from 5 to 3 days a week. She needs to know the figures to see if this is a viable option as she's 63 and still cant retire untill she's 66. who do we see who can give us the figures and i'm talking about taking out an income stream and doing salary sacrifice back into super, need to know how much tax she will pay and what will be her take home pay if doing 3 days?

I am 62 and looking at retiring in the next few years. I'm finding it really hard to get simple questions answered about my superannuation, tax, etc. My needs are simple - no assets (except Super), no debt and I'm not interested in investing outside super - I need financial advice but hate being 'schmoozed' - slick powerpoint presentations, glossy folders, expensive service, etc. I want simple straightforward financial advice. Where can I get it in Melbourne?

I'm 70yrs and about to retire and have approx: $500,000 in super and I want t help the kids getting their first home, when I check how much they need to pay if they borrow the above amount - it's over $350,000 in interest .
As my super money will sits around with my super company but I'm will get a pension from it every year, it's easier to withdraw the money and give it to the kids so they don't have to pay that huge amount in interest - What do you recommend?
