We have two young kids and wanting to get into a home on Sydney’s North Shore. Our budget is $1.6m and the lower north shore seems out of our reach so we wanted to ask if there are some areas further north we should look at?

Hi,
My dad is selling his house to give me money to buy my first home. around 400 thousand. we were just told we would have to pay tax on this. is there a way around this? We wanted the house to go in just my name for the first home owners grant.

I am the tenant on the lease. I sub-let the room to a housemate privately. I stupidly do not have her sign anything. She gave me Bond (4weeks rent) and 2 weeks in advance when she first moved in. 6 months later- She tells me she is moving out the week before rent is due (with only 1 weeks notice of her move out date)
She moves out July 8th. Rent was due July 3rd. She did not pay. This means she was Not covered by rent from the 3rd to the 8th of her living at the house. Can you help me!?

Is there a general rule about the returns on pub freeholds… current owners are owner operators so if we buy the freehold what return should we expect for the lease?

If the agent accepts our offer and we request a finance clause aren’t they obliged to include the clause in the sale contract…. the agent is putting us pressure to exchange?

Hi there I am going to tribunal for the costs of carpet replacement and cleaning fees in a house we vacated a couple of months ago. We are happy to pay a % of carpet replacement but we think the amount for cleaning is totally unreasonable and just not sure where we stand on this. The house wasn't in great condition when we moved in and they are expecting it to be perfect as we leave. What can we do ?
