Hi, My agent called Monday to arrange a showing of my home on Thursday/Friday to buyers. Never showed. The following Wednesday, unannounced he turns up. I was still in dressing gown and the place needed a little tidying up. Showing was embarrassing and didn't go well. Buyers didn't come back. Is this normal practice for agents, or is there something wrong with mine? Thank you.

I've been out of work for the past 9 months got very behind in my mortgage and so now that I am at preservation age I took 25K from my superannuation and paid off the mortgage debt. Today I got the bad news that I am unlikely to be able to work for at least another 6 months. I have only 13K of superannuation left. I took the 25K in late March. Can I access the remainder of my super? When? Thanks Deb

Looking for advice around the best potential structure for a company so that its assets are protected. Some accountants have suggested:

1. Setting up a private company and allocating its shares to a discretionary trust
2. Setting up a private company and allocating its shares to a discretionary trust where the trustee is a private company
3. Setting up a private company and allocating its shares to a discretionary trust where the trustee is another discretionary trust

Which do you recommend?

I have a rental property. The tenant has passed away. My real estate took it upon themselves to clear out the rubbish the tenant had left and cleaning the back yard without my knowledge. After 8 weeks I find out I owe tradies $2300. Why was I not shown or told of the mess by the AGENT and allowed to inspect for myself? Are the Agents trying to hide something. What are my rights as a landlord?

Hi,
I bought a property in Nov 2006, moved in Mar 2007. Lived there until early 2010. It is leased out since Jul 2010. I have no other main residence until Jun 2014. It is sold in last month. It was my main residence from Nov 2006 to Jun 2014. As it was Home First Used to Produce Income, I should use value at time of it first rented as cost base. But I didn't have it valued. So, must I use purchase price as cost base?
Thank you!
Regards,
Laura

My husband and I are directors of our own construction company. We have reached a point where we are out of out depth with how to measure our progress and be able to see if our business is viable and our debts measureable and managable. We are lost as to what we should do next to get our debts under control. Should we seek advice from a financial planner?..and can't our bank manager help us with this planning?

Wife and I seperated 2yrs trying to negotiate a settlement.
We had a joint account in both names that she froze. The funds have been released by a cheque issued in both names, I asked it to be sent direct to the solicitor acting on both our behalf, but they said they could only send it to the account holder.
My wife received the cheque and has cashed it into her personal acc, she now tells me she has spent the money.
Was it legal to cash a cheque issued in both names? I think not.. Thanks
