Q: In light of our recent question about government and community support for our farmers experiencing tough times with the drought, massive kudos to the Panthers Group who have announced a donation of over $100,000 to drought-stricken farmers in central –western New South Wales.

The donation was made through Macquarie Radio’s The Big Dry Drought Appeal - https://www.2gb.com/panthers-donate-over-100000-to-drought-stricken-farmers/

Q: I heard a radio ad promoting Australian biggest home loan sale with Rate City. Is this just marketing ploy for the banks or will they actually be able to help borrowers get people better rates.

The ad said the sale goes for 40 hours, does anyone know how it works?
A: Thanks for all the feedback and I am keen to understand more. I have just received an annoying letter from my bank stating my interest rate is going up so it might be good to see what other options are available especially as I have not heard of some of the lenders mentioned.

Regards
Tom

Q: When we got our home loan early this year the rate was 4.22% and since then the RBA has cut rates twice but when I looked at our rate online it is showing 4.02%. Should we have received more than 0.2% rate drop?
A: I thought it might be worthwhile to let you all know we called the bank and they agreed it didn't add up. The upshot is our rate was reduced to 3.85% so we are very happy. Thanks for all the great feedback.
