I have recently moved to the Gold Coast and am looking to start a Carpentry business and Home maintanence business. I am not not quite sure what insurances, qbcc license and financial obligations are required. I have done some research and still seems abit grey. Please could I get some advise?

Hi there, I have been doing events for charity for some time now, but I do it through voluntary non paid. I have enjoyed it tremendously and have given me a great deal of experience in the field. I hav been thinking about running my own business but Im not quiet sure which way to go. Wheather keep it my own company business and part proceeds to charity or run it as non profit organisation. I have been juggling it a bit for some time on what desicion to take. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each, also what lisences will I be requiring for each business. Im very new at this. When a master degree HR student apply for an entry level co-ordinator job, the interviewers are demanding a mininmum of 3 yrs experience, Please can someone suggest an alternative solution to get into the HR field with no previous experience? .,thnx Rob

My husband and I are starting a new business. We had to declare estimated salaries for employees for the rest of the financial year. We guess it might be approx 120k however now have decided to payroll all staff through an agency and staff will be covered by agency workcover. Will we still get a bill from workcover at the end of the financial year??

I am a practice manager contemplating buying a vet practice in partnership with a Vet friend. We are currently looking into how our income should be split and paid. We are going into this venture as 50-50 partners - could you please advise on what the recommended or appropriate wages/income split would be, given we will both be engaged in different roles within the business, of which one is usually paid higher than the other?

Hi There, We are selling retail bicycle accessories and can source products cheaper from online retailers overseas than our trade accounts. Can I legally resell these products if I use a dropshipping concept of placing my clients names on the receipt? I am under the impression this would cover the client for warranty if the part was to break, Is there any other issues using international online retail suppliers instead of having trade accounts with Australian distributor. Have just finished creating my own website to start selling android boxes to turn your tv into a smart tv. I need some advice on setting up a business account and best way to go about it all as I already have a full time job and want to make sure I'm doing everything by the book tax wise.
