: I am in a Strata of 6 villas. We have a council of owner of 5 members. The law requests a minimum of 3 members. To fill the 3 positions? Do we have to elect a chairman, a secretary and a treasurer? The existing chairman believes she is the only one elected and can delicate tasks of secretary and treasurer to different members at any time as she field fit. Is that according to law?

We are thinking of purchasing a property with cabins to rent out nightly. We will live in the main property. Will the mortgage interest be tax deductible as we are running a rental business?

I am shortly going to be doing freelance writing in addition to my normal full time job. I have my own ABN. Do I need to include GST in my invoicing or does this apply only after reaching a certain level of income? If so, is that income purely from my business, or including the income from my normal day to day job?

My neighbour is selling his house with my land featured in a photo, the bordering fence is actually on my land & the retaining wall also my property is the other side of the fence This was done for practicality & to allow him sufficient drainage as he was allowed to build his home on land that was classified a water causeway. As mentioned, he is selling his home & has made his property look bigger by using our retaining wall to work inline with a garden. Where do I stand legally with this?

Hi, We are struggling financially with credit cards & other debts. We can manage comfortably with Mortgage repayments it's all the other debts which are crippling us. I have seen when searching online that you can keep your home & car if you declare bankruptcy? Is this possible?

We collect Strata fees and have a sinking fund of $5000. We will be below taxable income

Im 62 and have $3k left on my mortgage on which i pay the minimum and have $20k in advanced payments.
Would it be beneficial to access some of the $20K to put into my super fund?

My partner and I bought a house in Perth in 1967 with the deed in both names. We had a child together but split up not long after and my partner has lived in the house ever since while I relocated overseas where I have resided ever since. For health reasons I am unable to return to Australia. Can I safely assume that I have retained a 50 percent ownership of the property and what is the best way of protecting my rights to my share on the death of either myself or my ex partner?

I am one third owner in a relocatable home in Qld, I pay rent to the park for the site and also have been making fortnightly repayments to the loan for the home. The other two owners have now decided they want to sell the home, I cannot afford to buy them out, what are my rights as far as moving out and them selling the property without my consent?

Hi, my kids mother left them a house in her will and made her brother the executor. The will was to have house sold and divided between the 2 kids at age 21. Her bother transferred house into his name (8 years ago) and my son lived in the house since. They have now sold the house but we need to find if cgt is payable?

I signed a cotenant lease agreement with my sister a few months ago which I have proof of and a couple of days ago she and the landlord tell me that I have one day to move out as they have taken me off the lease three months ago and no longer want me living there.. is this legal? To remove someone from a lease without informing the them or having them sign something?

I have a mobile home that i am looking to sell, it is situated in a nice caravan park with lake side. I am confused by taxes . Some say I wont have to pay tax and others say I will have to pay as it is likely I will sell for over $300000.
Does anyone have knowledge in this area?

I am 62 and looking at retiring in the next few years. I'm finding it really hard to get simple questions answered about my superannuation, tax, etc. My needs are simple - no assets (except Super), no debt and I'm not interested in investing outside super - I need financial advice but hate being 'schmoozed' - slick powerpoint presentations, glossy folders, expensive service, etc. I want simple straightforward financial advice. I’m 39 yers old and have applied and been granted total permanent disability insurance payout from my super fund.
I would like to know how much I will get taxed if I withdraw in 1 lump sum. This amount is sitting in my super account ATM as a taxed amount? Does this amount of I withdraw get put down as table income at tax time
