Port Macquarie, on the fantastic North Coast of NSW

How long have you been in the finance industry?

Since 2002

Is there any particular part of the finance industry you specialise in?

Predominantly Home and Investment Loans, Refinancing and Car Loans

What do you do for your customers that sets you apart from other brokers?

I’m not saying all brokers don’t but I really do have a genuine care about delivering real and ongoing results. I also love Port so it is easy to get heavily involved in the local community.

What role does communication play in helping you operate a successful business?

You have nothing, you don’t have a business without customers, without clients. Regular contact is a must.

What would you say to first home buyers who are struggling to get into the property market?

Good advice is the best place to start, find a Mortgage Broker or a trusted expert, and understand the basics of what you are aiming for, including mortgage repayments, deposit size, your household budget and government grants. Understand all your options.

In the end, everyone who buys a property finds it hard a time-consuming. The best you can do is be well-researched, well-advised and well prepared.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in business?

Family matters most. Starting and running a business is not for the faint-hearted, it can’t be done alone or without support.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

You can never have too many pairs of underwear.

What are your favourite hobbies?

CrossFit, Golf and playing Monopoly with my boys.
