Let’s start with your occupation

I’m a Mortgage and Finance Broker

Name of Business?

Bayside Finance Group

Where is the business located?

In the Bayside area of Melbourne, in East Brighton

How long have you been in the finance industry?

Since 2003

Is there any particular part of the finance industry you specialise in?

I take a holistic approach to finance and endeavour to cover a broad spectrum of lending for my clients, whether it is for their existing home, a new home, an investment property or finance for their business. I can also assist clients in difficult financial situations where their existing lender has said no.

What do you do for your customers that sets you apart from other brokers?

I endeavour to give good service, keep the client fully informed throughout the process and make it as simple as possible for them to complete the transaction.

What role does communication play in helping you operate a successful business?

Communication is vital. Getting a loan of any sort is a big decision and clients always want to know what’s going on. You also need to manage their expectations of the journey so that they understand it all and know what to expect and when.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in business?

Always treat people the way you would want to be treated and always do the right thing by your clients

Bayside

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

You get back what you put out, so keep on putting out and good things will come your way.

Is there a book you’d recommended to help people stay motivated?

Not really but always stay positive, be persistent and passionate about what you do and it will never be a chore.

What are your favourite hobbies?

I have done a bit of renovating in my time but now I spend time with friends and family, taking in the odd movie, watching some Cricket or Rugby (Go the All Blacks) and supporting my Partner’s team St Kilda. (Go the Saints!)
