How long have you been a mortgage broker and where is your business located?

I started out as a mortgage broker in September 1995 and my business is located at 6/108 Harbour Drive, Coffs Harbour.

What is the name of your business? 

Aussie Home Loans Coffs Harbour.

What do you love about being a finance broker?

The excitement you experience from happy clients and knowing I was able to play a part.

Is there a particular type of finance you specialise in?

Home finance; being a customer’s first home, their next home, refinancing and investment purchases.

What is the property market like in your region?

Coffs Harbour generally has a 12 month plus lag behind the metropolitan markets however the growth in property sales and capital gain has been steady and consistent.

Are there any particular suburbs or property types you feel represent growth opportunities in your region?

With the highway being upgraded to the north of Coffs Harbour there are a few smaller beach areas that have become quite desirable. With the shorter travel time into Coffs, these areas are enjoying good steady price increases.

What’s the one aspect of a loan all borrowers should be aware of? 

The interest rate is obviously a factor but customers need to look at the costs, such as monthly or annual fees, and what the rate will revert to at the completion of a honeymoon or fixed rate period.

What are your favourite hobbies?

Fishing, kayaking around the Coffs Harbour waterways and creeks,  Swimming & Crossfit.

How are you involved in the local community?

CB: I have just completed my 15^th year in surf lifesaving.
