Rebecca Mitchell photosimplyaskit spends a couple of minutes getting to know Rebecca Mitchell, Mortgage Broker in Gordon, Sydney

How long have you been a mortgage broker and where is your business located?

I have been in the mortgage industry for over 21 years & spent 8 years of it as a broker. Our awesome business is located in Gordon.

What is the name of your business?

Awesome Lending Solutions

What do you love about being a finance broker?

The part of being a finance broker that I really enjoy is being able to assist people to get finance when they didn’t think they could. There is nothing better than the feeling when the lender comes back with “LOAN APPROVED”. That is why every day is awesome.

Is there a particular type of finance you specialise in?

We offer a holistic approach to our clients who tend to be long term investors. Therefore we spend a lot of time assisting with lending to complex structures including various trusts & self managed super funds to provide asset protection & the opportunity to pass wealth from generation to generation.

GordonWhat is the property market like in your region?

I feel that the lower north shore is fairly stable, I have noticed that some areas are experiencing an influx of new developments but they seem to be taken up fairly quickly.

Are there any particular suburbs or property types you feel represent growth opportunities in your region?

I believe that there will be opportunities for investors around the Epping & Hornsby areas with council planning major upgrades to town centres which both have strong public transport & infrastructure networks already.

I also believe that there will be a large benefit to the area as a result of the West Connex which will elevate traffic snarls in the area therefore making it more appealing to families.

What’s the one aspect of a loan all borrowers should be aware of?

The differences in investment lending v owner occupied lending is a big aspect on the rise. There is a lot of talk out there that there are differences between the two types of lending which clients are becoming aware of but not necessarily understanding why there is a difference.

This is one of the reasons I devote a lot of time educating our clients on the difference between the cash rate, the bank rate & the test rate.

What are your favourite hobbies?

I enjoy going to the gym & I am an avid fan local ice hockey.

What are your goals for the next 12 months?

My personal goal for the year is to assist 100 clients to achieve their dream of home ownership or their first investment property. If I achieve my goal I have promised myself another 10 days cruise of the south pacific.
